Library staff members are available both for quick (up to 20 minute) questions at the reference/service desks of all BC libraries. Subject librarians are available for in-depth consultations in their offices.

Consult library hours for opening times. Staff at service desks during any open hours should be able to help you get started; more in-depth questions are best answered during business hours.

During the summer, evening reference hours generally do not go beyond 5:00pm, and there are no weekend hours.

Office consultations generally take place in normal operating hours (9am-5pm, M-F). To make an appointment, find the librarian for your subject (see link below), and contact them directly. There is also a 24/7 online chat service staffed by professional librarians: follow the link to Ask a Librarian for the chat service.
