Start with the Latin American Studies Portal, which provides links to guides and resources that cover the subject comprehensively.

Some key resources in Latin American Studies:

• Country Studies: The Americas (Library of Congress), description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of the indificual countries of the Americas.
• HLAS Online : Library of Congress Handbook of Latin American Studies, a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars, updated annually.  
• Oxford Encyclopedia of Mesoamerican Cultures, a chronicle of pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern MesoAmerica.
• Statistical Yearbook for Latin America and the Caribbean presents data on economic and social trends in the countries of the region.
